The Broadcasters Guild of Nigeria, BGN, is a non-profit and non-political association of broadcast practitioners in Nigeria.
The Guild is to promote and strengthen the discipline and practice of broadcasting by facilitating professional development, as well as sharing knowledge, technology, experiences and expertise in the multi-disciplinary fields of broadcasting.
The body draws membership from across the 36 states of Nigeria and the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, cutting across over 700 Federal, State, private and community radio and television stations licensed to operate in the country. Provision is also made for diasporan membership.
BGN is administered by an elected executive running the day-to-day activities of the Guild guided by a Board of Trustees.
BGN has a participatory leadership style as determined by registered and voting members, which revolves every two (2) years according to the Constitution of the Guild.
BGN interfaces with relevant affiliates in the country as is necessary, while facilitating international association and affiliation with organizations with mutual and/or complimentary interests.
